The Followng Steps Show You How To Produce A Full 100PP Publication Flipbook Including Overlayed Page Numbers In Just Mintues!

Tabs
SoftProof has tabs so that you can view multiple documents at the same time, these are located at the top of the SoftProof window.

Thumbnails
The use of thumbnails located on the right of the SoftProof window make for more efficient viewing of multiple documents.

Note: To utilise these features you must multiple select documents and View Rendered in the Monitor working surface.

Step 1:

- From the RIP Monitor we can see the complete list of sections from the publication.

- By utilising Blackmagic's search engine you are able to define a complete section, in this case we are using "Cov Enduro#3". So by typing "C" in the search field, only files beginning in "C" will appear.
- Once the desired section has been selected, click "Submit".

Step 2:

- Ensure "Publication" is selected.
- Enter "1" into "First page is".
- Name the Publication accordingly.
- Finally click "Submit".

- The user interface displays simultaneous spooling, imaging, rendering & collation.

- Once the covers have been processed, right click and select modify.

- Re-assign page numbers accordingly. So change cover 3 to: 99, and cover 4 to: 100(back page). Now Re-Render the modified pages.
- Continue to process second PDF containing the remaining pages (3-98), but remember to submit first page at page: 3.
- Make sure you use the same publication name specified as the covers. This will ensure that all pages are linked under the same publication.

- Once finished proccessing right click on the page 1 and select "Flipbook".

Step 3:

- Whilst in Flipbook mode you are able to view the virtual publication in page order.

- Right click on the first page and select "View Rendered".

Step 4:

- Whilst in the View Rendered mode you are able to zoom in using the Loupe for closer examination.
- Each Publication page is reperesented by a thumbnail image for easy identification.
- The user can pre define image rotation & scalling factors for fast operation at the press console.

Reverse Page Viewing

- First select Signatures>Transparency for reverse page viewing.
- Then set to: 10, click OK.
- Now select Signatures>Reverse page viewing.

- By using the "Loupe"(Found at View>Loupe) in conjunction with Reverse Page Viewing, you are to spot any errors you may have in the proof.

Step 5:

- Once all errors have been corrected you are able to export as PDF "Reader Spreads" or Quicktime Movie.
- Right click on the first page and select "Export as spreads".

- Ensure you have "All Pages" selected.
